Facial Plastic Surgery

The range of conditions that our ENT Facial Plastic Surgeons diagnose and treat are widely varied and can involve the whole face, nose, lips, ears and neck. Facial plastic surgery is surgery performed to enhance visual appearance of the facial structures. Cosmetic plastic surgery can help by reducing the appearance of wrinkles and lines. Listed below are some of the procedures we offer to achieve your goals of an improved look. If you have any concern as to whether or not this is the appropriate practice for your medical condition, please do not hesitate to call our office and ask to speak with one of our clinical staff members.

Rhinoplasty

The optimal rhinoplasty is performed with a focus on the aesthetic outcome for the patient while simultaneously optimizing nasal function. Aesthetic nasal surgery refines the shape and position of the nose to restore balance with the other facial features.

Common patient complaints include a large nose, hump (dorsal hump) on nasal bridge, wide or crooked nose, malformation of the nasal tip and a drooping (ptotic) nasal tip. These nasal deformities are corrected during rhinoplasty surgery, often in combination with septoplasty, sinus surgery or other procedures that improve nasal breathing.

The surgical procedure can involve making incisions within the nose (closed rhinoplasty) or with incision inside the nose AND through the skin between the nostrils (open rhinoplasty). The technique utilized depends on the patient needs, goals and expectations.  Our physicians will work with you to help you achieve your goals.

Cosmetic Non-Surgical Services

BOTOX®:

Botox Cosmetic

Botox® is one of the most popular products in the non- surgical treatment of wrinkles. Botox is a neurotoxin produced by a bacterium, Clostridium botulinum.  The neurotoxin blocks muscle activity at the injection site. This product is used in facial cosmetic surgery as an injection into the facial musculature to temporarily improve the appearance of wrinkles, crow’s feet, and lines of facial expression.

The effect of the Botox® takes about a week for its full effect. Typically patients are seen two weeks after the injection for evaluation and if additional units of the product need to be injected it is done at this time. The effects of the product typically last 4 months, but can last longer for the patient that receives regular injections.

Botox® should not be used in pregnant patients, those with certain neurological diseases or those with infection overlying the areas to be injected.

Facial Fillers:

Juvederm Family of Fillers

Dermal fillers constitute a variety of injectable substances that help to diminish facial lines, wrinkles and restore volume and fullness to the face that is lost during the aging process. Other uses for fillers include adding volume to thin lips (plumping), enhancing cheekbones and softening facial creases.
The procedure is performed in the office setting and may include topical and injectable anesthesia to numb the area prior to injection.

Following treatment patients are asked to avoid strenuous activity for 24 hours, excessive sun exposure or heat, and significant alcohol ingestion. After a few hours, makeup can be used to cover any redness associated with the injection.
